THDC recognised for exemplary initiatives during Swachhata Pakhwada 2025

New Delhi: THDC India Limited (THDC) has been honoured for its outstanding initiatives and impactful performance during Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, observed from May 16 to May 31.

The recognition was conferred at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Power, Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi. Ministry of Power's Secretary Pankaj Agarwal (IAS) presented the award to THDC's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) RK Vishnoi. The event was organised by the Ministry of Power in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

The honour recognises THDC’s efforts to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability across its projects and units. Senior officials present included Ministry of Power's Additional Secretary Piyush Singh (IAS), Joint Secretary D Sai Baba, Under Secretary Praveen Kumar and Balwant Singh, Manager (CMD Secretariat) of THDCIL, along with other officers from the ministry and the company.

During Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, THDC undertook a wide range of initiatives, including cleanliness drives at townships, project sites, and nearby villages, zero-plastic campaigns, and sanitation awareness programmes. The PSU also engaged schools and local communities through street plays, painting competitions, and Swachhata pledge ceremonies. Tree plantation drives were carried out to promote greenery, while its “Treasure out of Trash” campaign encouraged recycling and reuse, showcasing innovative ways to convert waste into valuable resources.

In addition, the company leveraged social media campaigns to amplify its outreach and systematically reported all activities on the Swachhata Samiksha Portal, ensuring transparency and accountability in line with ministry guidelines.
