NITI aayog invites retired govt officers for consultant posts in Atal Innovation Mission

New Delhi: The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog has invited applications from retired government officers for engagement as consultants on a contractual basis to strengthen its administration and finance functions. The recruitment drive offers four vacancies—two each for Consultant (Administration) and Consultant (Finance & Accounts)—and is open to eligible retired officers from the Central Government, State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Autonomous Bodies and Statutory Bodies.

According to the notification published on July 06, Consultant (Administration) positions are open to officers who retired in Pay Levels 7 to 11 and possess experience in establishment and administrative matters, public procurement, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), General Financial Rules (GFR), RTI, e-Office and official noting and drafting. Consultant (Finance & Accounts) posts are meant for retired Accounts Officers or Senior Accounts Officers in Pay Levels 10 or 11 with expertise in budgeting, finance, audit, Public Financial Management System (PFMS), e-Bills, grants-in-aid and government financial procedures.

The consultants will be engaged initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organisational requirements. Applicants must have retired or be retiring by June 30, 2026, should be below 62 years of age on the date of the notification and may continue in the assignment up to the age of 65 years.

The remuneration will be fixed in accordance with the Department of Expenditure's guidelines and calculated after deducting the basic pension from the last pay drawn. In addition, transport allowance will be admissible as per the applicable norms. Consultants will also be entitled to 1.5 days of paid leave for every completed month of service, while TA/DA for official tours will be governed by existing government rules. However, benefits such as HRA, CGHS, residential accommodation, LTC, staff car and medical reimbursement will not be available.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with supporting documents including the Pension Payment Order (PPO), last pay certificate, educational qualifications, medical fitness certificate and the last five years' APARs, within 30 days from the date of the circular. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online or physical interview, with the final selection to be made by AIM, NITI Aayog.
