BHEL Recruitment 2023: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has released a job notification for post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). Eligible and interested candidates can apply before February 21, 2023. The CMD post in BHEL will fall vacant on November 1, 2023.

The CMD is the Chief Executive of the Corporation and is responsible to the Board of Directors. He/She is responsible for overall growth and performance of the organisation, including all aspects of operations, business development, technology development, HR and finance.

Pay scale: Rs 2,00,000 – Rs 3,70,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 45 years and the age of superannuation is 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as of the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed Companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Education qualifications

The applicant should be an engineering graduate or chartered accountant or cost accountant or post graduate or graduate with MBA or PGDIM from a leading institute.

Work experience

The applicant should possess cumulative experience/exposure at senior level for at least five years during the last 10 years in finance or business development or production or operations or marketing in large organization of repute.

Exposure in Heavy & Medium Engineering or Electrical Sector will be desirable.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government or All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Additional Secretary in Government of India or carrying equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Lt. General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises or Private Sector should be working at Board level position on the date of application

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
