Balmer Lawrie Recruitment 2020: Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLC) has invited job applications for the post of Director (Manufacturing Business). Eligible candidates can apply before March 9. The post is vacant since December 16, 2019.

Director (Manufacturing Business) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He/She is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the business under his charge i.e. greases & lubricants, leather, chemicals, industrial packaging and refinery and oilfields services, environment scanning and implementation of business strategies. He/She is also responsible for the identification of appropriate technologies, technology vendors and guiding technology transfers in existing and new ventures.

Pay scale: Rs 1,60,000/- Rs 2,90,000/- (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 40 years and age of superannuation 60 years

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the board of a CPSE);

(b) Central government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;

(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 1,000 crore or (d) Private Sector in a company where the annual turnover is *Rs 1,000 crore or more. Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualifications

The applicant should be an engineering graduate with a good academic record from a recognised university or institution. Applicants with a postgraduate degree or diploma in management will have added advantage.

Experience

The applicant should have adequate managerial experience at a senior level in an organization of repute. Experience in the manufacturing sector is desirable.
