HPCL Recruitment 2021: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has posted a job vacancy through the PESB portal for the engagement of the Director (Refineries). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before March 14. The post will fall vacant on October 1. Currently, Vinod S Shenoy is serving as Director (Refineries) of HPCL.

Director (Refineries) is a member of the Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). He/She heads the various business units in the refining sector and is responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of Refineries and meeting product requirements of the corporation's marketing operations. He/She is also responsible for developing short term and long term plans for enhancing the productivity of the refineries and ensuring their implementation.

Pay scale: 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years.

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of the vacancy.

Employment Status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more;
(d) Private sector in the company where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualification

The applicant should be an Engineering graduate preferably in Chemical or Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics Engineering with a good academic record from a recognised university or institute.

Applicants with MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Management from a recognised University or Institute would have an added advantage.

Experience

The applicant should have experience at a senior level of management in a large organisation of repute, out of which at least five years during the last ten years should have been in petroleum refining.

Applicants with experience in Petro Chemical Industry would have an added advantage.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government or All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in Government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.
