NTPC Recruitment 2023: The State-run Maharatna Power PSU, NTPC Limited has released a job notification for the engagement of the Director (Projects). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the job before February 2023. The post will fall vacant on December 1, 2023. Currently, Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya is serving as Director (Projects) of NTPC.

Director (Projects) is a member of Board of Directors and reports to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He is responsible for achieving excellence in Techno-economical aspects of Power Plant Engineering and execution, other related technical activities of the company and responsible for ensuring timely construction, erection, commissioning and completion of all projects under the corporation as per the desired quality and cost frame work through effective Project Management System. He will also ensure effective utilization of potential and expertise available in the company through consultancy services and Joint Ventures in domestic and international markets.

Pay scale: Rs 1,80,000 – Rs 3,40,000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit is 45 years and the age of superannuation is 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as of the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Educational Qualification

The applicant should be an Engineering graduate from a recognised university or institution with good academic record.

Applicants holding MBA or PGDM will have an added advantage.

Work Experience

The applicant should have at least five years of cumulative experience or exposure during the last 10 years in Project Planning or Execution or Management at a senior level of management in a large organisation of repute.

Experience in the construction or commissioning of projects in the power sector is desirable.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government or All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in Government of India or carrying equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy or Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises or Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.

Duration of the appointment

The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
