New Delhi: Aahuti Sawai has assumed charge as the Director (Personnel) at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) on Friday as per the orders received from Coal India Limited and the Ministry of Coal. Sawai was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board after careful scrutiny.

Sawai completed her post-graduation in PM & IR from XISS, Ranchi. She has also done MBA in Marketing from Annamalai University. She is also a 'Certified Corporate Director' awarded by the Institute of Directors (IOD). She started her career with Central Coalfields Limited in the year 1987 and has over 35 years of experience in various aspects of Human Resource Management. She has worked in various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) along with its trade unions and other stakeholders.

Prior to joining ECL, Sawai served as the General Manager (CSR) at Bharat Coking Coal Limited, Dhanbad. She headed the Department of Welfare, CSR, PF & Pension as well as Officer Establishment in BCCL. She also led the team under CSR which carried out various dedicated services to combat COVID-19, for which BCCL was awarded by CIL in the year 2020.

Before she joined BCCL, Sawai was working in CCL. She has worked in various capacities in different units and areas of CCL. She was also awarded with a certificate of appreciation for her contribution in implementing UPIS (Unified Personal Information System) and NEIS (Non-Executive Information System) in CCL.

Sawai is also associated with various social activities and campaigns like Go Green, Beti-Bachao, Beti-Padhao etc. along with discharging her professional duties.
