AAI showcased its competence and innovation in the field of aviation security and aviation security systems in the Expo.

The three days long 22nd IISE 2019 Expo concluded on October 4. Chairman AAI, Anuj Aggarwal was presented as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. ITPO's Executive Director Rajesh Agrawal and PHDCCI's Chairman (Defense & HLS Committee) Rajiv Bhatnagar were also present on the occasion.

The AAI pavilion at 22nd IISE 2019, showcased various technologies in the pipeline and procedures implemented in the field of aviation security like facial recognition-based access control of passengers called 'DigiYatra', which is under trial at various airports.

Last year, AAI stall received the silver award at the same event while this time, AAI stall was designed in such a way that every visitor witness simulation of security procedures at a futuristic airport terminal through DigiYatra process.

What is Digi Yatra?

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is in the process of adding a digital experience through DigiYatra. Passengers will be allowed access into the terminal and other areas of the airport automatically based on facial recognition system at checkpoints like an entry point, security hold area and aircraft boarding gate. Additionally, this will facilitate self-baggage drop and check-in, using facial recognition and data recall. DigiYatra will facilitate paperless travel and avoid identity check at multiple points.

The various equipment and display panels showcased at AAI stall also appraised air travellers about the security requirements as per the Indian Civil Aviation Security Regulator–Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). AAI had also showcased the information with regard to UDAN – the prestigious regional connectivity scheme of the Government.
