AK Saxena assumes charge as Director (Operations) of RINL

Visakhapatnam: Ajit Kumar Saxena has taken charge as the new Director (Operations) of RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Thursday. Prior to this assignment, Saxena was serving as Chief General Manager (Mills) at Steel Authority of India Limited's (SAIL) IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur.

Saxena was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on June 3, for the post of Director (Operations) of RINL-VSP. He was selected from a list of five candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. Saxena has over 33 years of professional experience. He started his career as a Management Trainee (Technical) in 1986. He had worked in various assignments in SAIL starting with Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) and worked in various positions during his long tenure of 33 years in SAIL.

Saxena holds B Tech degree from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in Metallurgy and also an MBA. He was awarded "Young Metallurgist of the year Award" for the year 2000 from the Ministry of Steel.

RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant

Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, popularly known as Vizag Steel, is an integrated steel producer in Visakhapatnam, India built using German and Soviet technology. RINL-VSP is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. The company has grown from a loss-making industry to 3-billion-dollar turnover company registering a growth of 203.6 percent in just four years.
