Amitabh Banerjee set to take over as IRFC MD

Over the course of his career, Banerjee has worked in various zones of the Indian Railways and has also had a brief stint with DMRC

New Delhi: Amitabh Banerjee is set to be appointed to the post of Managing Director at Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC). He is currently serving as Director (Finance) at Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL). Banerjee's name has been recommended by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) from a list of three shortlisted candidates. While one of the other two candidates on the list was from within IRFC, the other one was from Shipping Corporation of India (SCI).

Banerjee is an IRAS officer of 1988 batch. Over the course of his career, he has worked in various zones of the Indian Railways and has also had a brief stint with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. He has also served as Director at India's topmost regulatory authority, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
