Anil Vij takes over as Director (Technical) of RITES

Anil Vij, who has taken over as Director (Technical) of RITES Limited, was serving as Executive Director in the same organisation

New Delhi: Anil Vij has taken over as Director (Technical) of RITES Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways, on November 4. Prior to his appointment as Director (Technical) of RITES Limited, he was serving as Executive Director in the same organisation.

Vij has been recommended for the post the Director (Technical) by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) pannel on July 22. He was selected from the list of nine candidates who were interviewed by the panel.

Qualifications and background

Vij possesses graduate qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He also completed an MBA from MDI, Gurgaon. He has over 34 years of working experience including 20 years of experience with Indian Railways. He has held important postings in Northern Railway, Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and Railway Board.

Vij had joined RITES Limited in 2005 as General Manager. He has served as Director, Mechanical Engineering in the ministry of Railways from 1998 to 2003. His responsibilities included strategic planning and implementation for diesel locomotive maintenance and operations over Indian Railways, Transfer of Technology – Induction of EMD locomotive technology etc.

In June 2013 Vij got promoted as Group General Manager at RITES only and last year in July 2018 he had been promoted as Executive (Director) of RITES Limited.
