Assam floods: AAI and Akshay Patra join hands in relief ops

Guwahati: This is what separates profit-driven corporates from public welfare centric business organisations i.e. PSUs. Airports Authority of India's North East regional director joined hands with Akshay Patra Foundation and volunteering for the people affected by the devastating flood in various parts of Assam. Both the organisations carrying out relief operations distributing packed drinking water and ready to serve meals to flood survivors at relief camps.

Encouraging the Airports Authority of India employees who are volunteering apart from their regular duties, Sanjeev Jindal, Regional Executive Director, AAI-NER also joined them at various locations in North Guwahati on July 21, 2019. The joint team of the NGO and PSU visited at Kamalpur block, Jagadhri Asthan Gano Temple flood relief camps and various other places where the flood survivors had taken shelter along with their cattle.

Sanjeev Jindal, Regional Executive Director, AAI-NER joined relief operation at various locations in North Guwahati[/caption] Talking to the flood-affected people Jindal assured them all possible help from Airports Authority of India and said that we will continue to help them till they are back to their native places and in their houses when normalcy is restored.

"If possible we will airlift relief materials available at other parts of the country to Guwahati and the facility will free of cost from AAI side', Jindal said. A committee for helping the flood relief works has also been constituted at AAI Guwahati and Ranjan Sonowal is the nodal officer for the same. Members of the Akshaya Patra foundation also accompanied him who are supplying freshly cooked foods to all these relief camps.
