BHEL to enter in commercial vehicle segment through collaboration

BHEL and Volvo have signed an MoU for taking up a joint project for development and deployment of Type – IV Cylinders (Hydrogen / CNG) in the commercial vehicle segment

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECVL) have signed an MoU for taking up a joint project for development and deployment of Type – IV Cylinders (Hydrogen / CNG) in the commercial vehicle segment.

According to an official statement of BHEL, this MoU will pave the way for collaboration in the Hydrogen value chain, contributing towards the 'National Hydrogen Mission' of the Government of India, making India Aatmanirbhar.

BHEL's Director (Power) and Director (HR) – Addl. Charge Upinder Singh Matharu, and VECVL's Chief Operating Officer Rajinder Singh Sachdeva signed the MoU in the presence of other senior officials of BHEL and VECVL.

BHEL is a Maharatna PSU and the largest government-owned power generation equipment manufacturer. It is under the ownership of Government of India and administrative control of the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
