Binay Krushna Mahapatra appointed as Director (Commercial) of KIOCL

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Binay Krushna Mahapatra as Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited

New Delhi: The Government has cleared the appointment of Binay Krushna Mahapatra for the post of Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Steel. According to an order issued on August 23, 2022, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Steel for the appointment of Mahapatra. He has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. May 31, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as Group General Manager (GGM) in National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO).

Mahapatra was recommended for the post of Director (Commercial) of KIOCL Limited by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on April 24. He was among four candidates, who were interviewed for the same role.

As Director (Commercial) of KIOCL, Mahapatra will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for all commercial activities of the company comprising materials management, marketing and shipment. He will also be responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Board relating to the above-mentioned areas of work.
