BP Sharma assumes charge of CVO, MCL

Sambalpur: BP Sharma (ITS) has assumed additional charge of the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited on Thursday. Sharma is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of 1999 batch. Presently he is serving as the CVO of Bilaspur (CG)-based subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and also holding additional charge of Nagpur-based subsidiary Western Coalfields Limited (WCL).

Sharma has served at important positions in Maharashtra, Meghalaya and Gujarat and he has expertise in communication system and telecommunication. After taking over the additional charge he visited MCL on Saturday.

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited

MCL is one of the major coal-producing company in India and one of the eight subsidiaries of Coal India Limited a Maharanta company under the Ministry of Coal. MCL was carved out of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) in 1992 with its headquarters at Sambalpur. It has its coal mines spread across Odisha. MCL has two subsidiaries with private companies as a joint venture. The name of these companies are – MJSJ Coal Limited and MNH Shakti Ltd.
