DMRC has invited expression of interest from banks and non-bank entities to add ATMs at its premises in the capital and NCR

New Delhi: Before long, all Delhi and NCR metro stations will install at least one ATM (automated teller machine) on their premises, a move that will not just help commuters but will also add more revenue to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The DMRC has invited expression of interest from banks and non-bank entities to add ATMs at its premises in the capital and NCR, reports say. "Currently, 175 stations already have one or more ATMs, but with the rapid expansion in 2018, the idea is to cover the entire network with the facility in 2019," a DMRC source said.

These kiosks will provide booking facility for metro commuters, who will also be able to get information on booking status and location of already booked cabs.

To enhance last mile connectivity, the DMRC, in December, launched a service in partnership with cab aggregators — Ola and Uber — who set up their kiosks at different metro stations. The kiosks will provide commuters with booking facilities, information on location, booking status of already booked cabs etc.

These kiosks will provide booking facility for metro commuters, who will also be able to get information on booking status and location of already booked cabs. Close to 400 such zones have already been identified at 210 metro stations.

The Delhi Metro network currently spans over 317 km with 231 stations.

The DMRC has also recently tied up with a private partner to run last-mile connectivity services, including cycle sharing services and e-rickshaws.
