Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha Gets 3 months’ Extension

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved extension in service to P. K. Sinha as Cabinet Secretary for three months

New Delhi: Cabinet secretary PK Sinha has been given three months extension while the hunt for a new cabinet secretary is on. The extension order has been approved by the appointments committee of the cabinet. Sinha, a 1977 batch IAS officer of UP cadre has been on this post since June 13, 2015. The order copy reads "Shri Pradeep Kumar Sinha, IAS (UP:1977) as Cabinet Secretary for a further period of three months beyond 12.06.2019 or until further orders, whichever is earlier." 

Sinha is completing his tenure as the cabinet secretary on June 12, 2019. During UPA-2 the tenure of the Cabinet Secretary was extended to a maximum of four years in 2010 which earlier was for maximum three years.
