Inaugurating Swachhta Pakhwada in BHEL Dr Nalin Shinghal, Chairman & Managing Director administered the 'Swachhta Pledge' to the company's employees

New Delhi: Maharatna company under the ministry of heavy industries Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) is observing Swachhata Pakhwada from August 16, 2019, to August 31, 2019. Inaugurating the Swachhta Pakhwada Dr Nalin Shinghal, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL, administered the 'Swachhta Pledge' to the company's employees.

The CMD exhorted BHEL employees to participate enthusiastically and contribute wholeheartedly to the National Mission of creating 'Swachh Bharat'. Swachhata Pakhwada started in April 2016 during the first tenure of PM Modi. The objective of observing it for a fortnight is to bring an intense focus on the issues related to cleanliness in office and around. The idea is to inculcate the practices of Swachhata in government employees by engaging Ministries and departments in their jurisdictions. An annual calendar is pre-circulated among the Ministries to help them plan for the Pakhwada activities. Ministry of heavy industries has Swachhata Pakhwada calendar scheduled from August 16th to 31st every year.

The ministry observing Swachhata Pakhwada is considered as Swachhata Ministries and are expected to bring qualitative Swachhata improvements in their jurisdictions.
