Coal Secretary chairs review meeting at SECL

Bilaspur: Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain (IAS) visited South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a Miniratna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, on November 27. During his two-day visit to SECL, he inspected Gevra, Dipka and Kumsmunda coal mines of SECL and chaired a review meeting at its headquarters in Bilaspur.

While interacting with SECL officials during the review meeting, Jain said that SECL has immense potential and coordinated efforts, hard work and uses of new technology will take SECL to new heights. In the meeting, Ministry of Coal's Director Piyush Kumar, Coal India Limited's (CIL) Director (Technical) Binay Dayal, SECL's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) AP Panda, all the Directors & CVO of SECL, General Managers and all Area General Managers, along with senior officials of SECL, were present.

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)

SECL is the largest coal-producing company in India. It is a "Miniratna" company and one of eight fully owned subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. The company has its headquarter at Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) and has 92 mines spread over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh; 70 underground, 21 opencast, and 1 mixed. It is a schedule 'B' Mini Ratna CPSE of coal and lignite.
