Debasis Acharya assumes charge as Director (Personnel) of SECL

New Delhi: Debasis Acharya has taken over as Director (Personnel) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a PSU under the Ministry of Coal. According to an earlier order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Acharya has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. up to January 31, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He was working as Head of Department (Executive Establishment) at Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) before taking over as Director (Personnel) of SECL.

Acharya was recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of SECL by the PESB panel in September 2022. He is a Science Graduate (B Sc) and also holds the Educational Qualification of CAW, DSW (IRPM), MA (Environment). He has a special role in the operation of the vision portal related to the provisions and facilities of NCWA in ECL. Acharya started his career in Haripur Mines under the Kenda Area of ECL. He has vast experience of the Personnel Department in various projects of ECL and is considered to be well-versed in Industrial Relations.

Acharyya brings with him 32 years of rich experience in the field of Personnel and Industrial Relations management.
