Delhi Metro is offering free-ride for Republic Day event. Know how to avail?

The people who are going to attend the Republic Day celebrations can collect tickets (coupons) from any metro station, after showing an e-invitation card/e-ticket for the Republic Day event

New Delhi: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be offering free rides to those, who are attending the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path on 26 January. The people who are going to attend the Republic Day celebrations can collect tickets (coupons) from any metro station, after showing an e-invitation card/e-ticket for the Republic Day event.

"In order to facilitate the people who are in possession of bonafide e-Invitation Cards/e-Tickets for attending the 74th Republic Day ceremony on January 26, 2023 at Kartavya Path, the Delhi Metro will issue tickets (coupons) to them from its Metro stations across the network free of cost," Delhi Metro said in an official statement.

"The e-invitation card/e-ticket holders can collect these tickets (coupons) from the Metro station from where they intend to travel to the venue by showing their bonafide e-invitation card/e-ticket. They can then exit from Central Secretariat or Udyog Bhawan or Mandi House Metro station only to reach the Republic Day venue at Kartvya Path," it added.

After the conclusion of the Republic Day ceremony, these e-invitation card/e-ticket holders can again get entry from Central Secretariat or Udyog Bhawan or Mandi House Metro station only and exit from originating Metro station of the Delhi Metro by showing the same ticket (coupon).

These tickets (coupons) will be issued for travel between 04:30 AM and 08:00 AM only on January 26, 2023. However, exit through these tickets(coupons) will be allowed till 02:00 PM on January 26.

Those who desire to utilize this facility must carry a Government issued photo Identity card and must produce it at the Metro station for collecting tickets (coupons).

To cater to the expected additional rush at Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan and Mandi House Metro stations, DMRC will deploy additional Customer Facilitation Agents/staff at these stations.

The parking facilities shall remain open for their convenience.
