New Delhi: Asha Ram Sihag has been given additional charge of the post of Secretary at the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) on Tuesday. The assignment of the additional charge of the post of DPE Secretary to Sihag has got a nod from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Sihag is an IAS officer of 1983 cadre and is currently serving as Secretary at the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI).
An official order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said that Sihag will hold the additional charge "with immediate effect and till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier." Sihag's appointment was necessitated after former DPE Secretary Seema Bahuguna superannuated on September 30.
