New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has picked Sushma Rawat for the post of Director (Exploration) at ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation), inducting a third woman as a functional director to the board of the Maharatna oil and gas PSU.

The PESB picked Rawat for the ONGC Director (Exploration) job from a list of six candidates. Five of these candidates were from within ONGC, while one was from ONGC Videsh. After the appointment, Rawat will be only the third woman ever appointed to a functional director position at ONGC. The first woman director at ONGC was Dr Alka Mittal, former Director (HR) who also held additional charge of the post of CMD for a while, before superannuation in August 2022. Then Pomila Jaspal was appointed Director (Finance) at ONGC.

Rawat is currently serving as an Executive Director at ONGC.
