New Delhi: The government is planning to get two additional cargoes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from United Arab Emirate's Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to make up for the shortfall in LPG import in India.
Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted on Tuesday that ADNOC had agreed to give two additional LPG cargoes on an urgent basis to meet the deficit in LPG import in India. This is being done keeping in mind the festive season. Pradhan added that the two cargoes will reach India in the next two months.
Sources said that additional supplies from ADNOC would compensate for lower imports from Saudi Arabia. The Middle-Eastern country has lowered refinery runs in the aftermath of the drone attack on Saudi Aramco oil facilities.
The attacks on some of the kingdom's biggest oil facilities, Abqaiq and Khurais plants, on September 14 has halved the crude output of the world's top oil exporter. The shutdown has affected per day output by 5.7 million barrels.
