IRCON’s contribution to PM CARES Fund totals at Rs 20.5 cr

New Delhi: Ircon International Limited (IRCON) has come forward to provide additional financial assistance of Rs 15.5 crore to the PM-CARES Fund in order to strengthen the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19). This amount is in addition to Rs 5 crore assistance announced earlier. The PSU's total contribution to PM-CARES Fund now amounts to Rs 20.5 crore, including a contribution of Rs 51 lakh by the employees in the shape of a day's salary.

IRCON's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) SK Chaudhary said that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is one of the biggest challenges that our country is facing and it has been unprecedented in its severity. We at IRCON has always been at the forefront in times of need for the country. The biggest need at this time is to be united and strengthen the hands of the government. We as a responsible company have been assessing the situation and have decided to enhance our contribution.

Further, Chaudhary said that IRCON, through the years has been partnering with the government towards nation-building. We are confident that as a nation, we will be able to overcome this exceptional situation and emerge a stronger nation. IRCON employees have also come forward and supported the company's endeavour by donating their one day's salary for this Coronavirus (COVID-19) fund. The total amount of Rs 51 lakh was contributed by all employee of Ircon International Limited. "At IRCON, the workplace safety of our employees' is of paramount importance. We have been proactively implementing all precautionary measures in accordance with COVID-19 advisories of the government.

Further, we have ensured that labourer and staffs at various sites are properly taken care of and are provided with all support," the company said in a press release.
