IREL organises 37th DAE Safety & Occupational Health Professionals Meet

New Delhi/Mumbai: IREL (India) Limited along with Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) jointly organised the '37th DAE Safety & Occupational Health Professionals Meet (SOHPM) on October 8 and October 9 in Mumbai. The theme of the meet for industrial safety was "Self-Regulation for Safety" and that for occupational health was "Challenges and Opportunities in Occupational Health during COVID-19 Pandemic."

Department of Atomic Energy's (DAE) Secretary and Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) KN Vyas, AERB's Chairman G Nageswara Rao and BARC's Director Dr AK Mohanty were present at the inaugural function.

Setting the tone of the conference, IREL (India) Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) D Singh highlighted the significant role played by safety in all spheres of life and the need for self-regulation, which the new world order has taught us amidst the Pandemic. The patrons also gave their valuable inputs on self-discipline in safety, radiological events, safety management of contract workmen etc. and also placed on record, special appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the COVDI warriors across all DAE units to ensure minimal disruption of activities on account of the Pandemic.

During the occasion, the Monograph on Industrial Safety & Occupational Health was released by AERB Chairman while the booklet on Industrial Safety & Fire Statistics was released by BARC Director. A compendium on rare earth & heavy minerals was prepared specifically for the event to highlight the operations of IREL (India) Limited along with the range of diversified products, which was launched by KN Vyas.

As in previous years, the 37th DAE-SOHPM provided a platform for all the DAE units to share their operational experiences for enhancing industrial safety and mitigate the emergency conditions at the works.

IREL receives "Excellent" MoU Rating for 2019-20

In a separate announcement, IREL said that it has received an "Excellent" MoU rating for the year 2019-20, a feat achieved by the company for the 3rd consecutive year. The MoU score secured by IREL is the highest among the DAE Units and 2nd best among CPSEs all over India.

 Congratulating the employees on this momentous achievement, IREL CMD encouraged the employees to continue with the good work being done and strive for continual improvement in all aspects of life, be it work or family.
