KV Bhaskara Reddy assumes charge as Director (P&P) of KIOCL

New Delhi: KV Bhaskara Reddy has assumed charge as Director (Production & Projects) of KIOCL Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel, on March 1. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as General Manager in the same organisation. According to the order from the Ministry of Steel, Reddy will hold the office till the date of his superannuation i.e. January 31, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The information was shared by KIOCL to the Bombay stock exchange on Monday.

Reddy was recommended for the post of Director (Production & Projects) of KIOCL by a PESB panel on August 7, 2019. With his new appointment, Reddy has replaced N Vidyananda who superannuated on February 29.

Education & background

Reddy is a graduate in Mining Engineering from Kothagudem School of Mines, Osmania University in the year 1985 with the first-class mines manager certificate (R) and possessing Executive Management Programme (MPT) from IIM, Bengaluru. He began his career with NLC India Limited and joined KIOCL Limited in 1986 as a graduate engineer at Kudremukh mines and worked at various levels during the last 33 years in KIOCL Limited. He has credentials of working in the areas of mine planning, mining operation, sustainable development and mine safety with all statutory compliances.

KIOCL Limited, formerly 'Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited' is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. KIOCL has its head office and administrative activities in Bangalore. It has a pelletisation plant in Mangalore and had an iron ore mine in Kudremukh (Chikkamagaluru district). The Kudremukh mine, one of the largest iron ore mines in the world, was closed in 2006.
