NALCO pays dividend of Rs 557.80 crore for FY19

NALCO paid the highest dividend of Rs 557.80 crore for FY19 to the government in two cheques totalling Rs 436.54 crore & Rs 121.26 crore

New Delhi: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines, has paid the highest dividend of Rs 557.80 crore for the financial year 2018-19 on Thursday. The two cheques totalling Rs 557.80, consisting of the interim dividend of Rs 436.54 crore and final dividend amounting Rs.121.26 crore, were presented to the government.

NALCO's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) presented the dividend cheques to Union Minister of Mines, Coal and Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi in the presence of Ministry of Mines's Secretary Anil Mukim, IAS, Additional Secretary Dr K Rajeswara Rao, IAS, Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Nayak and NACLO's Director (P&T) and other senior officials of the ministry and the company.

Dividend declared in AGM

NALCO had declared a total dividend amount of Rs 1,072.73 crore (excluding dividend distribution tax), in it's Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held last month, according to 115 percent of the paid-up capital for the financial year 2018-19. This includes the government of India's share of Rs 557.80 crore.

In a statement, NALCO said that it has paid a total of Rs 8,539.61 crore as dividend, including Rs 6585.57 crore as share of government, since its inception.
