NCL bags Coal Minister Award 2021-22 for production, productivity and ERP implementation

New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has been conferred with 'Coal Minister Award 2021-22' for production & productivity and ERP implementation on Thursday. Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi presented the award to NCL. Ministry of Coal's Secretary Dr Anil Kuamr Jain (IAS) and Coal India Limited's (CIL) Chairman Pramod Agrawal and senior officials of the Coal Ministry and CIL remain present in the ceremony.

NCL has been given the 2nd prize for outstanding performance in production and productivity in FY 2021-22 and the first prize in implementation of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) in a function held in New Delhi. NCL CMD Bhola Singh, GM (Production) LP Godse and GM (Systems) RP Gupta received the awards on behalf of NCL.

Two Area's General Managers were also felicitated with Coal Minister's Award for Excellent performance in FY 2021-22. Jayant Area GM Bipin Kumar in Mega Mine Category and Kakri Area GM VK Agrawal in Medium Mine Category bestowed with Minister's award.

NCL CMD Bhola Singh and the Functional Directors of the company have congratulated the team NCL. CMD dedicated these accolades to the unwavering and relentless efforts of NCL's miners toward the energy security of the nation.

This was the 2nd edition in the series of Coal Minister's Awards which was announced earlier in categories like Production & Productivity, Safety, Sustainability, Quality, and ERP Implementation.

In FY 2021-22 NCL had produced 122.43 million tonnes (MT) of coal with an annual growth of 6.42 percent and dispatched 125.66 MT of coal with a whooping annual growth of 15.66 percent nevertheless the COVID-19 triggered adverse situation and unpredictable rainfall. Also, this performance of NCL was assumed significant in the midst of a steep rise in international coal prices and a spurt in power demand in the domestic sector.

Under the aegis of Coal India and the Ministry of Coal, the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been materialized in NCL in a time-bound and phased manner. The selection of NCL as the best company for the successful implementation of ERP is a testament to the work being done towards digitization, innovation, and research and development of the company.
