NLC India secures contract for power supply to Rajasthan at Rs 2.64 per unit

New Delhi: NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) a state-owned company under the Ministry of Coal on October 9 said that it has emerged as the successful bidder for supply of power to Rajasthan at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit, in a regulatory filing.

NLCIL successful bid for the total capacity of 810 MW for tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit, NLCIL said in a filing to BSE.

The opportunity arose through a tender floated by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) for the procurement of power from 810 MW Grid Connected Solar photovoltaic power projects, which are planned to be set up within the 2,000 MW Pugal Solar Park in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

NLC India currently has an installed renewable energy (RE) capacity of 1,431.06 MW, with an additional 2,110 MW of renewable energy projects currently in the pipeline. The company also has a plan to develop renewable energy capacity of 6,031 MW by 2030, aligning with its corporate plan.

This project will offset carbon emissions to the tune of 46,628.56 tonnes considering lifetime electricity generation of approximately 48,170.00 million units, the statement said.
