New Delhi: NTPC Ltd, the country's largest power generator, has crossed 1 GW annual capacity in the renewable energy (RE) segment by adding 1,074.59 MW RE capacity in FY23, taking the total NTPC non-fossil capacity to 9.41 percent. With the successful commissioning of entire capacities of 150 MW and 90 MW Devikot Solar PV Projects at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, which were declared commercially operational with effect from Tuesday, NTPC's total RE segment reached the milestone of 1 GW.

With this, the standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 58041.27 MW, while the group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 70656.27 MW.

Last year, NTPC doubled its renewable energy (RE) target for 2032 from 32 GW to 60 GW of solar and wind power. It is also planning to monetise 10-20 percent stake in NTPC Green Energy Limited with a view to bring in an investor for its ambitious expansion plan.
