NTPC posts 34% rise in net profit in Q2 FY2019-20

New Delhi: State-run NTPC has posted a 34.48 percent jump in Profit after Tax (PAT) at Rs 3,262.44 crores for Q2 FY2019-20, as against Rs 2,426.02 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company has a total installed capacity of 57,106 MW. For H1 FY20, NTPC generated 130.14 Billion Units with its coal stations achieving a Plant Load Factor of 69.04 percent as against the National Average of 57.87 percent. For Q2 FY20, NTPC posted a Profit before Tax (PBT) of Rs 3,497.72 crores, as against Rs 2,634.68 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, registering an increase of 32.76 percent. Profit before tax was at Rs 6,660.11 crores in H1 FY20 as against Rs 5,645.81 crores in H1 FY19, registering an increase of 17.97 percent.

For H1 FY20, the total income was Rs 48,177.04 crores as against Rs 45,325.94 crores in H1 FY19, registering an increase of 6.29 percent. For Q2 FY20, total income was Rs 23,658.23 crores as against Rs 22,485.96 crores in Q2 FY19, registering an increase of 5.21 percent. Profit after tax was Rs 5,865.23 crores in H1 FY20 as against Rs 5,014.16 crores in H1 FY19, registering an increase of 16.97 percent.

14 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Sales for the June quarter of financial year 2019-20 grew by 6.55 percent to Rs 24,192.59 crores, up from Rs 22,703.60 crores in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. EBITDA for Q1 FY2019-20 stood at Rs 6,452 crore, whereas margin came in at 26.70 percent.
