ONGC’s Vivek C Tongaonkar set to be next Director (Finance) of MRPL

Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL)

New Delhi: Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar is set to be the next Director (Finance) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), a PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on January 25. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC).

Tongaonkar has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of MRPL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on January 25. Out of eight candidates two candidates were from MRPL, two candidates from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and one each from ONGC, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Engineers India Limited (EIL) and NTPC Limited.

As Director (Finance) of MRPL, Tongaonkar will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to the Managing Director (CMD). He is overall in charge of the finance and accounts of the organisation and will be responsible for evolving and formulating policies related to finance and accounts as well as implementation.
