New Delhi: Pankaj Joshi (IAS) has been appointed as Additional Director of Gujarat Alkalise and Chemicals Limited (GACL), a caustic soda producer company under the state government of Gujarat, on Friday. Joshi is currently serving as Director in the same organisation. He has been appointed as Additional Director of GACL, the company said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange.

Profile of Pankaj Joshi

Joshi is a senior IAS officer, with distinguished academic background of B Tech in Civil Engineering, M Tech in Water Resource Engineering, from IIT New Delhi and M Phil in Defence & Strategic Studies. Having joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1989, he has held various important positions in the government of Gujarat in various departments like Land revenue, Personnel and General Administration, Urban Development and Education Department for about 20 years. He has also worked with the union government in various departments like Urban Development, Social Justice & Empowerment, Public Transport etc. for about six years.

Joshi has wide experience at the senior level in the public administration and policy in various areas. He has held Principal Secretary of Energy & Petrochemicals Department of Gujarat. Presently, he is also Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Gujarat. He is also Director on the Board of Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited, Sardar Sarovar Nigam Limited, Gujarat International Finance Tech City Limited, Gujarat State Petronet Limited, Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Managing Director of Gujarat State Financial Services Ltd and Chairman of Gujarat State Investment Limited.
