PESB picks Cotton Corporation Director (Finance) for CMD post

The PESB has picked Lalit Kumar Gupta, Director (Finance) at Cotton Corporation of India, for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the same PSU

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has picked Lalit Kumar Gupta, Director (Finance) at Cotton Corporation of India Ltd, for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the same PSU. At a selection meeting held on Wednesday, the PESB interviewed nine candidates, including Gupta, for the position.

"PESB recommended the following name for the post of Chairman and Managing Director, Cotton Corporation of India Limited: Lalit Kumar Gupta," the minutes of the meeting said.

The list of candidates who were interviewed for the position included, R Manoj Bajaj, Chief General Manager, Cotton Corporation of India Limited, Sanjay Kumar Panigrahi, Chief General Manager, Cotton Corporation of India Limited, Rajendra Kumar Gupta, Chief General Manager, Cotton Corporation of India Limited, Manish Kumar Bainiwal, Chief General Manager, PEC Limited, Vijay Kuradagi, Director(Marketing), Cotton Corporation of India Limited, Rajasekar T, Director(Marketing), HLL Lifecare Ltd, Mohanraj Shetty, General Manager, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) and Jitender Kumar, Vice President – Raw Materials (Fibres), Sutlej Textiles and Industries Limited.

Lalit Kumar Gupta

Gupta has completed his MBA in Marketing from ITM Business School of Navi Mumbai. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He is also a member of the Institute of the Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He has a rich experience in the Finance and related sector. Gupta has a very long association with Cotton Corporation of about 25 years. He joined CCI in August 1994.

The Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI) is a government agency, engaged in diverse activities related to trade, procurement, and export of cotton. CCI is a public sector agency responsible for equitable distribution of cotton among the different constituents of the industry and aid imports of cotton. It was incorporated on July 31, 1970, under the Companies Act 1956.
