PESB picks NTPC’s Prasanna Kumar Motupalli as next NLC CMD

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has picked Prasanna Kumar Motupalli as the next NLC CMD, an official notification showed on Tuesday. Motupalli was selected for the post from a list of four candidates who were interviewed on Tuesday. While two candidates were from REC Limited, one was from within NLC.

Motupalli is currently serving as the Managing Director of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL). He has over 30 years of experience in the generation sector across fuel management, operations and maintenance, coal handling and power plant erection. Prior to joining GSECL, he was working with NTPC Limited as an executive director, handling corporate fuel management.

Motupalli will have to get vigilance clearances and an approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) before he is appointed to the post.
