PESB picks Shivam Srivastava for NTPC’s Director (Fuel) post

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Shivam Srivastava for the post of Director (Fuel) of NTPC Limited

New Delhi: Shivam Srivastava is set to be the next Director (Fuel) of NTPC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager in the same organisation.

Srivastava has been recommended for the post of Director (Fuel) of NTPC Limited from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on December 2. Out of 10 candidates, six candidates were from NTPC, two candidates from NCL (India) Limited and one each from Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).

As Director (Fuel) of NTPC, Srivastava will be responsible for ensuring fuel availability, affordability, and security for generating stations. He will be responsible for the development and operation of captive coal mines including associated field activities, other technical functions related to mines and the safety of mines. Further, he will also be responsible for fuel supply agreements with gas suppliers and coal suppliers including Coal India Ltd. and Subsidiaries, SCCL and others and ensuring timely and quality coal supply at power stations as per power generation requirements and maintaining adequate stock level.
