POWERGRID signs contract agreement with UETCL

POWERGRID has signed a contract agreement with Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) for providing PMC services

New Delhi: Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has signed a contract agreement with Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) for providing project management consultancy (PMC) services in Kampala Uganda on Thursday. As per the agreement, POWERGRID will provide project management consultancy (PMC) services to UETCL for 132 KV transmission lines and substations. The agreement was signed by POWERGRID's Executive Director (International Business) Anil Mehra and UETCL's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Valentine K Katabira.

Other consultancy assignments

Earlier, POWERGRID had also signed a consultancy contract with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited and three agreements with Nepal Electricity Authority with aggregated consultancy fee of about Rs 45 crore.

POWERGRID is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram. The company transmits about 50 percent of the total power generated in India through the transmission network. Its former subsidiary company Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) handles power management for the national grid and all state transmission utilities.
