POWERGRID signs MoU with CIPET to provide skill development training

POWERGRID has signed an MoU with the Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology (CIPET) for providing skill development training

New Delhi:  Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology (CIPET), an autonomous institute under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, on Tuesday. The MoU has been signed under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of POWERGRID. As per the MoU, POWERGRID, in association with CIPET, will provide skill development training to 160 underprivileged and unemployed youth of society. The MoU for Rs 1.29 crore, has been signed by POWERGRID's Chief General Manager (CSR) MK Singh and CIPET's Principal Director Dr SN Yadav in the presence of POWERGRID's Director (Personnel) VK Singh and other senior officials of both the organisations.

Earlier, POWERGRID had also signed MoUs with Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) and National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) for proving financial assistance under its CSR initiative.

POWERGRID is a state-owned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram. The company transmits about 50 percent of the total power generated in India through the transmission network. Its former subsidiary company Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) handles power management for the national grid and all state transmission utilities.
