New Delhi/Bangalore: The power transmission giant of India POWERGRID has claimed as many as 6 title category awards in the '14th PRCI global communication conclave'. The conclave was organised by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) under the aegis of World Communicators' Council (WCC) in Bengaluru on March 6 & 7, with the theme "PR BEYOND 20:20". The maharatna PSU's half a dozen awards came in the categories including an award for the Internal Communication Campaign (Swachhata), Corporate Film (30 years of Company), Corporate Brochure, Digital Newsletter (Communiqué), Best Communicator of the Decade (GM, CC). POWERGRID was also awarded for HR Excellence of the Year 2020 taking the tally to six.

POWERGRID's General Manager (Corporate Communications) Naresh Kumar got the "ND Rajpal Memorial award for communicator of the decade." The award was presented to him by Basavraj Bommai (Minister of Home, Govt of Karnataka), Justice HN Nagmohan Das (Former Justice of High Court of Karnataka) and Lieutenant General MKS Yadav VM in a grand ceremony held in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Naresh Kumar has over 27 years of experience in public relations and Advertising. Naresh has executed various publicity campaigns and many prestigious global assignments for POWERGRID. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of mass communication, New Delhi Naresh has a Masters degree in Political Science from Delhi University. He is also a silver medal holder MBA from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Usha and Lakshmi Mittal Institute of Management, New Delhi. Naresh Kumar has represented POWERGRID on behalf of the corporate communication dept. in the world energy Congress in 2007 and 2010.
POWERGRID also bagged "Excellence Award" for the internal communication campaign. The award has been presented to Kumar during the 14th global communication conclave. MB Jayram (Chairman Emeritus), PRCI, was also present on the stage while handing over the award to Kumar. Through these awards, PRCI recognises people who have excelled in their own field and contributed to social justice and have brought a name for the country in the last 12 years.
