New Delhi: Pramod Agrawal, IAS is set to be Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) in Coal India Limited (CIL). Agrawal's name has been recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday morning. A total of five candidates were there on the interview list. The candidates were from MECON Limited, Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Coal India Limited (CIL) and a couple of IAS officers.

Agrawal is an Indian administrative service (IAS) officer of 1991 batch. He has served as Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering and MD, Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam in the past. Currently, he is posted as Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing and Managing Director, MP Metro Rail Company Limited. He also holds additional charge as PS, science and Tech department.
