PTC India announces appointment of Independent Director

PTC India Limited announced the appointment of Prakash S Mhaske, as an Independent Director on its board with effect from January 16

New Delhi: Prakash S Mhaske has been appointed as an Independent Director on the Board of PTC India Limited. He has been appointed on the Board of PTC India Limited with effect from January 16, PTC India said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Monday.

Mhaske is Ex-Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power and Ex- Officio Secretory to the Government of India. "He has no relationship with any of the Directors of PTC and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any order of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other such authority," PTC India further informed.

Mhaske did his graduation in Engineering (B.E) from Nagpur University in 1982 from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur. He joined Central Electricity Authority in 1984 as a Group-A officer in the Central Power Engineering Services, through the combined Engineering Services- Examination (1982) of UPSC and he has worked in almost all the fields of power sector viz. Generation, Transmission, Grid Operation and Electricity Regulations. He is an Ex-Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
