Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi has assumed additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited with effect from Wednesday

New Delhi: Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi has assumed the additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited with effect from Wednesday. "Board of Directors through resolution by circulation passed on December 14, 2022, has appointed Rajeev Kumar Vishnoi CMD of NHPC Limited," the Gurugram-based PSU said in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday.

The tenure is with effect from December 13, 2022, it said.

Vishnoi is not related to any of the directors of the NHPC and is not debarred from holding the office of director by virtue of any order of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) or any other such authority, the company said.

He is also the CMD of Rishikesh-based THDC India Limited.

Vishnoi has more than 35 years of vast experience in the design, engineering and construction of hydro project structures. He is a graduate in Civil Engineering from BITS Pilani and he has also attained the qualification of MBA and has undergone Professional Up-gradation Programme in the design and Construction of Hydraulic Structures and Hydropower Constructions from the State University of Moscow, Russia. He has also attended Advanced Management Programme in Leading Strategic Change from ASCI, Hyderabad in association with SDA Bacconi School of Management, Italy.

Until now, Yamuna Kumar Chaubey, NHPC's Director (Technical), was holding the additional charge of the CMD of the company.

"Yamuna Kumar Chaubey Director (Technical), NHPC ceases to hold the additional charge of the post of CMD, NHPC Limited," said the regulatory filing.
