Rama Manohara Rao set to be next Director (Finance) of RailTel

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Rama Manohara Rao for the post of Director (Finance) of RailTel

New Delhi: Rama Manohara Rao is set to be the next Director (Finance) of RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Miniratna PSU under the Department of Telecommunications. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Rao is an Indian Railways accounts service (IRAS) officer of the 1998-batch. Presently, he is serving as Special Secretary to the Government of Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department in Andhra Pradesh.

Rao has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of RailTel from a list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on Friday. Other candidates who were on the list were one each from RailTel, CONCOR, POSOCO, Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited and VRS Foods Limited.

Railtel is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. Railtel is of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure providers in the country owning a pan-India optic fibre network on exclusive Right of Way (ROW) along the Railway track. The OFC network covers all important towns and cities of the country and several rural areas covering 70 percent of India's population.
