Renu Sharma set to take additional charge as IGL Director

New Delhi: Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary (Transport) of the government of NCT of Delhi, has been given the additional charge of the post of Director at Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), IGL said in a regulatory filing on Friday.

Sharma is a 1988-batch IAS officer of AGMUT (Assam–Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh–Goa–Mizoram–Union Territories) cadre and her appointment as new Director of IGL will be effective from December 1, the regulatory filing said. With the new appointment, Sharma will replace Rajeev Verma, who was holding the same position in the organisation. "Renu Sharma is an IAS officer and presently holding the position of Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) in Govt. of NCT of Delhi. She has no relationship with other Directors and she is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any such authority," the company said in the regulatory filing.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL)

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is one of India's leading natural gas distribution companies. IGL supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. The company was established in 1998 and operates primarily in the Indian state of Delhi. The company has taken over and operated the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) for laying a network of gas distribution pipelines in the Delhi. The company started as a joint venture between GAIL, Bharat Petroleum and the government of NCT of Delhi.
