Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) celebrates ‘Quality Day’

On the occasion of 'World Quality Day,' Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) collective joined the rest of the world in celebrating Quality Day on November 14

Rourkela: SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) collective joined the rest of the world in celebrating Quality Day on November 14. Pledge taking ceremonies were held at various places in the Plant and township to mark the occasion.

In a pledge taking ceremony organised near the Main gate of the Plant RSP's ED (Works), Gautam Banerjee hoisted the quality flag. Banerjee also administered quality pledge in English to all those present on the occasion. The quality pledge was administered to the employees in Odia by RSP's ED (MM) DK Mohapatra and in ED (Projects) Hindi by Pankaj Kumar. The function was attended by many CGMs, senior officers and employees of the plant.

Addressing the gathering Banerjee said, "quality is the most valuable parameter of an organisation to prosper and move ahead. It has to be ensured at every stage of production and services. RSP reiterates its deep commitment to continuing to provide quality products to its esteemed customers."

Earlier, pledge taking ceremony was also organised in projects office, where Pankaj Kumar hoisted the quality Flag. In ED (Works) office, the quality flag was hoisted by RSP's CGM (Mechanical) AK Srivastwa while in Town Engineering office, CGM (C&IT) R Nayak hoisted the flag. At IGH the quality flag was hoisted by Director (M&HS) Dr SS Pati. The pledge which reads as, "Rourkela Steel Plant, a unit of SAIL is committed to providing defect-free products and services to all its customers on time and every time by establishing an effective quality management system" was administered in all the places in three languages namely, Odia, Hindi and English.

The programmes were coordinated by RSP's CGM(MS) SR Dutta, GM Incharge (IED & BE) S Panigrahy and the business excellence team. Leaflets on QMS were distributed and quality badges were adorned by all to mark the occasion

It is worth mentioning here that the month of November is celebrated as Quality month and the second Thursday of the month is being observed as Quality Day.
