Rudra Gaurav Shresth appointed as OSD in PMO

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Rudra Gaurav Shresth as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rudra Gaurav Shresth (IFS: 1999) as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Friday.

According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed as OSD in PMO with effect from the date of his joining.

Rudra Gaurav Shresth is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of 1999 batch. He is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India at Thimphu in Bhutan. Prior to this, he had served as High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Mozambique and Director in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) consists of the immediate staff of the Prime Minister, as well as multiple levels of support staff reporting to the Prime Minister. The PMO is headed by the Principal Secretary, currently Pramod Kumar Misra. The PMO was originally called the Prime Minister's Secretariat until 1977 when it was renamed during the Morarji Desai ministry. It is part of the government of India and is located in the South Block of the Secretariat Building.
