New Delhi: S Sakthimani is set to be Director (Finance) of Fertilizers & Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT), a PSU under the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Sakthimani's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. He is currently serving as Director (Finance) of Cement Corporation of India Limited (CCI). With his new appointment, Sakthimani will replace A Ganesan, who has been working in the same capacity since August 28, 2019.

Sakthimani has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of FACT from a list of three candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel. Other candidates were from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) and Siyaram Silk Mills Limited.
Sakthimani is a Bachelor of Science (B Sc in Metallurgy) graduate from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, and holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Madras. In addition to this, he is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant from the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI).
Sakthimani's hands-on experience varies from core R&D to corporate board. He has experience in strategic planning, finance & accounts, corporate affairs, operations, quality assurance and auditing. He also worked for the implementation of ISO systems in financial management and personnel management with inbuilt controls.
Prior to joining CCI Limited, he had worked with Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Usha Martin and Tata Steel Limited.

The company was incorporated in 1943 by Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma of Travancore Kingdom.
