Sandeep Govil appointed as Director (Consumer Mobility) of BSNL

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sandeep Govil for the post of Director (Consumer Mobility) of BSNL Limited

New Delhi: Sandeep Govil has been as Director (Consumer Mobility) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Govil for the post on Monday. He has been appointed on the Board of BSNL on immediate absorption basis, with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e July 31, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Govil is an Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officer of the 1986-batch. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager (Rajasthan) in the same organisation. He was recommended for the post by the PESB panel on April 18, 2022. He was selected for the post from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting.

As Director (Consumer Mobility) of BSNL, Govil will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for planning and developing of mobile network. He will operate and maintain BSNL mobile services at par with telecom industry standards.
