About SCOPE

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) of Public Sector Undertakings. SCOPE is born out of a registered society called 'New Horizon' that was set up in New Delhi on September 29, 1970. The basic objective of New Horizon was promoting "better understanding among the public about the individual and collective contribution of the public sector". Later New Horizon was rechristened as Standing Conference of Public Enterprises or SCOPE. SCOPE's activities are aimed at strengthening the PSEs by making them more efficient and effective and at the same time encouraging them to explore new horizons in the global market.
